Build the Handoff System That Gets You Off the Tools in 2027

The free live workshop where I show you how to hand off the work without losing quality or control, turn the jobs only you know how to do into systems your crew runs, and start building a profitable business that keeps running while you’re on vacation. Even if every decision still runs through you and all your processes live in your head.

If this sounds familiar

Your business is running on its most expensive resource: you.

You’re not stuck because you can’t run a business. You’re stuck because you’re the best on your crew, and your name is on every job.

One sloppy finish means a bad review and a lost referral, so you stay on the tools to protect the reputation you spent years building. Every decision and every fire lands on you, and without meaning to, you became the system.

Do the math. Take the hours you spend each week on work you could pay someone $30 an hour to do. Multiply by the difference between that and what an owner hour is really worth, then by 50 weeks. If your hour is worth $200, twenty hours a week is $170,000 a year, paid to your own bottleneck.

Do the math

$170,000

a year, paid to your own bottleneck

Hours a week on $30-an-hour work20
Your $200 hour, minus $30× $170
Weeks a year× 50

That’s the chaos tax. You pay it every year, and it goes up with every job you add.

On the tools

Every problem on every job ends up on your phone
Your crew knows the work but still calls you for every decision
Your reputation only holds up when you’re on site
Take a week off and jobs stall or turn into callbacks
More jobs means more chaos and more hours, not more profit

Off the tools

Your crew solves problems before they reach you
You lead your people, your people run the systems, the systems run the business
Every job runs on a system, so your quality and reputation hold whether you’re there or not
Take a week off and jobs start, clients get updates, and invoices go out
Revenue and profit grow, and your hours don’t

What you’ll discover, live

The tricks of the trade nobody teaches owners.

Trick 1

Why you’re still on the tools

You’re the system. We’ll walk through the 4 levels every contracting business sits on, from Chaos to Oral Tradition to Scattered Systems to Systemized, and you’ll see exactly which one yours is stuck at.

Trick 2

Why hiring hasn’t gotten you out

Without systems, every new hire is one more person calling you. Here’s the order that works: you lead your people, people run your systems, and systems run your business.

Trick 3

Which job to hand off first

Two questions that find the first job to take off your plate: what you do every week that a lower-paid team member could do if it were written down, and what you hate doing that someone else could own.

In one live session

The 3 things you walk out with.

No theory you’ll never use. We build it together, live, and you leave with a system you can hand off before the season starts.

1Your Level

Where your business sits on the 4 levels, scored live with the Systems Audit across 5 areas of your business, plus the top 3 systems to build next.

2Your First Written System

One job, mapped and written down step by step during the workshop, so someone else can run it without calling you.

3Your Handoff Plan

Who takes it over, by when in 2027, and up to 5 numbers you’ll track to know it’s working.

The Handoff System

Here’s how it works

You write it down once. Your crew runs it every time. One job comes off your plate, and the next one follows the same steps.

Pick the jobThe task you do every week that someone else could do if it were written down
1 · Map itLay out how the job flows, start to finish
2 · Document itWrite every step. A new person follows it. Anything you have to explain gets added, until anyone can run it
3 · Measure itUp to 5 numbers that show it’s working, picked with the person doing it
4 · Let it evolveReview and update it as the business grows
Your crew runs itThe work stays to your standard, and you stay in control of how it’s done

Off the tools, in one picture

You lead your people. People run your systems. Systems run your business.

Not a crew that calls you for everything. A crew running the systems that used to live in your head.

Your host

Why listen to me on this.

Patrick Lalonde[Title], Contracting.com

[Patrick’s story in two or three sentences: running his own contracting company, the moment he realized he was the system, and what changed once the business ran without him.]

Our coaches are remodeling contractors themselves, and our community has 700+ contractors working on the same thing you are. On November 11, I’m putting the Handoff System on screen, live, and helping you build your first one.

Straight answers

Questions contractors ask before they register.

Is this another business-guru webinar?

No. It’s contractors talking to contractors. Our coaches are remodeling contractors themselves, and everything we teach comes from running contracting companies.

I don’t want to give up control. Is that what this is?

The opposite. Right now you don’t have control, you have involvement. A written system is how your standard gets followed on jobs you’re not on.

My crew can’t do it the way I do.

That’s because the process lives in your head. Once it’s written down step by step, they can learn to do it your way, and you can check it against the numbers.

Will this work for my trade?

GCs, remodelers, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping. The trades are different, but the bottleneck is the same: the owner is the system.

I’m slammed. Do I really have time for this?

That’s the point. One session now, before the 2027 season, is how you stop being the one who’s slammed when spring hits.

Is this just a pitch for something?

You’ll leave with your level, your first written system and your handoff plan whether you buy anything or not. And yes, at the end I’ll share how we work with contractors. You’ll see it coming.

What if I can’t make it live?

There’s a replay for a short window, but the Game Plan and the live handoff reviews only happen in the room. The contractors who show up live get the most out of it.

You got into this to build something, not to be on call for it 24/7.

Next season is coming either way. This winter decides whether you’re running it or it’s running you.
